Genesis 3:1-13

Questions for discussion

Where did the devil come from? What do you think the serpent looked like—sinister or innocent? Why would he strive to ruin God’s creation?

How much time passed between creation and the devil’s temptation?

If God didn’t want Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, why would he put it in the garden?

The serpent spoke audibly to Eve. If he hasn’t spoken audibly to any of us, does that mean that he hasn’t tempted us? Or do his temptations take a different form?

Why are people so prone to blame-shifting and finger-pointing?
