The Ministers of the Church

God doesn't restrict the work of the church to a certain class or priesthood. He gives the keys of the kingdom of heaven to all Christians, the "universal priesthood of all believers." God has also instituted the "public ministry." Pastors and other public ministers of the gospel carry out the same ministry as all Christians. They do so as representatives of the Christians they are called to serve. God holds pastors and other public ministers of the gospel to high standards of Christian character and conduct.
